Sanctuary of Gibilmanna

It is located 800 m. above sea level and surrounded by the woods of Pizzo Sant'Angelo, it is a famous destination for pilgrimages to Maria Santissima: the splendid marble effigy Maria with the Child Jesus is venerated by many ,and it is attributed to Antonello Gagini (16th century).

The convent and the original church would have been founded according to tradition, in the sixth century by Pope Gregory the Great. It is 15 km from Cefalù.

From the square of the sanctuary, the view extends along a large stretch of the Tyrrhenian coast.
