Churches, shrines, works of art, places where you can read the love of the Creator within everything.
Here is the religious itinerary to experience with the eyes of faith, as pilgrims and hikers, immersed in cultural contexts where art and nature intertwine in a pure emotional bond.
The Cathedral of Cefalù and its towers
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, it is one of the most important monuments of Norman Sicily. Visit its interior, walk along the central nave, and let yourself be enchanted by the sight of the Christ Pantocrator, with its dazzlingly colourful mosaic tiles.
Here you will contemplate true Beauty!
Afterwards, continue your visit to the Towers with their unique architectural structure.
There will be many steps to climb, but once you reach the top, you will fall in love with the panoramic view that offers a unique image of the medieval quarter of Cefalù, with its small windows and red roofs.
Conclude your visit at the Canons' Cloister, a canonical jewel where time seems to stand still.
The silence and magic of these places, even more beautiful when visited at night, will be a balm for the spirit.
The Sanctuary of Maria SS di Gibilmanna
At Gibilmanna, situated at an elevation of nearly 800 meters above sea level, stands the sanctuary dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary.
Virgin, the Patroness of the Diocese of Cefalù.
It is said that the deep devotion to the Madonna of Gibilmanna led Bishop Don Gioacchino Castelli to solemnly crown the Virgin and the Baby Jesus with the crowns sent from the Vatican: it was August 15, 1760.
The participation of the people in the celebration was significant, and it is said that a mute person and a blind person regained their speech and sight, respectively.
Enchanting indeed! Inside the Sanctuary, there is a statue of the Madonna with Child, attributed by several scholars to Antonello Gagini.
Indeed, one can breathe an atmosphere of great charm here, where the silence is only broken by the singing of birds and the sound of bells.
